Xianyang (Sam) Zhan

My name is Xianyang (Sam) Zhan (詹先洋), I am an incoming Software Engineer II (L62) at Microsoft, working on AI Agents. Prior to Microsoft, I worked at Uber Freight for pricing algorithms and ML models.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with highest honors at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in May 2025, advised by Professor Koustuv Saha, I also worked closely with Professor Eshwar Chandrasekharan. I worked at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) as a research intern in Fall 2024, advised by Professor Haohan Wang. My research area is NLP X HCI and I have published multiple papers at top tier AI conferences and Journal (EMNLP, NAACL, AAAI, TMLR).
